Assistance with Federal Benefits
Each organization listed in the AW2 Community Support Network offers services that are either covered by insurance or free to AW2 Soldiers, Veterans, and their Families. AW2 Soldiers, Veterans, and Families are encouraged to contact these organizations directly for more information about the services they offer.
Federal Organizations
Humana Military Healthcare 
The Humana Military Healthcare has a program called The Warrior Navigation and Assistance Program (WNAP), which was created to guide Warriors and their Families through the maze of health care systems, connecting them with the resources to help them over hurdles they may encounter. The program provides a dedicated team of associates with a goal to advocate on behalf of recovering Warriors and their Families to ensure they meet all their goals, whether physical, behavioral or social. They provide guidance and clinical support to military and civilian health care professions with treatment, rehabilitation and reintegration of recovering Warriors, enabling them to return to active duty or back home to the community as a productive Veteran. External Organizations
American Veterans (AMVETS) 
AMVETS, one of the nation's largest Veterans' organizations, is proud to support AW2 Soldiers, Veterans, and their Families by offering services such as advocacy in the Department of Veterans Affairs claims process and financial assistance during recovery. AMVETS' 180,000 members at more than 1,300 posts from coast-to-coast stand ready to support wounded warriors.
Arizona Department of Veterans' Services 
The Arizona Department of Veterans' Services (AZDVS) is a State of Arizona agency charged with providing advocacy and service to Arizona Veterans and their Families. AZDVS advocates to ensure opportunities to fully realize and utilize all federal and state benefits and entitlements earned as a result of military service are awarded.
Blinded Veterans Association 
Blinded Veterans Association (BVA) supports blinded and visually impaired Soldiers, Veterans, and their Families through the rehabilitation process and adjustment to vision loss. BVA Field Service Officers have in-depth knowledge on rehabilitation options, benefits counseling, resources, career advising, and many other topics. BVA's Operation Peer Support initiative invites blinded Soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan to meet each other and other Veterans who have adjusted to vision loss.
Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors 
Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors is a free, safe and healing sanctuary where our wounded warriors and their families can relax, reconnect and recover from the horrific effects of war. Our facility includes developing partnerships with local non-profit organizations who will offer various nature-focused, evidence-based, non-clinical therapy programs for the service member, their spouses and their children. Located 60 miles outside of Washington, DC, in Bluemont, VA, Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors serves outpatients from the new Walter Reed National Medical Center at Bethesda and the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.
Bring Everyone In The Zone, Inc. 
Our mission is to provide education and support to service personnel and their Families who are experiencing the devastating effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. To train facilitators in recognizing cases that require additional services including medical referral and providing them with needed resources. We fulfill our mission through our P-C-S programs: Preparing, Caring, and Sharing. We Prepare volunteers through our professional basic intermediate facilitator training programs and have trained over three hundred facilitators since our first training in August 2008. We Care by connecting our customers to a myriad of community resources and connections that assist Veterans and leverage these resources. Since May 2009, we have collaborated to leverage funds to assist with basic needs including rent/mortgage, utilities, care repair, food, and case management services. Financial assistance is provided on a case by case (donation by donation) basis. We share through Peer support that is provided by our volunteers on a one to one or a group basis currently have over sixty groups meeting throughout the state. Our first weekly group began in August of 2008.
Combat Wounded Veterans of South Mississippi 
Combat Wounded Veterans of South Mississippi is a non-profit organization that provides support to our local wounded warriors of all services to include, financial resources, assistance with VA benefits, employment, and spiritual. We collaborate with other local organizations to facilitate the needs of our Mississippi Wounded Warriors.
DC Office of Veterans Affairs 
The District of Columbia Office of Veterans Affairs provides Veteran benefits assistance and information, outreach, advocacy, claims processing assistance, and service provider coordination to Veterans and their Families to access Department of Veterans Affairs and District of Columbia government resources and benefits.
Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing 
Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) assistance organization. At the core of our mission and efforts every day is the goal of assuring that disabled Veterans are able to obtain the highest quality housing that meets their accessibility and mobility needs. Our organization is firmly committed to helping each and every disabled Veteran that we can reach. Our efforts to assist Veterans in achieving appropriately adaptive housing will allow them to be as independent and productive as possible.
Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs 
The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs (FDVA) is a state agency responsible for assisting, without charge, Florida Veterans, their Families, and survivors in improving their health and well-being through quality benefit information, advocacy, and education. FDVA also provides long-term health care services through five Veterans' homes and one assisted living facility. FDVA's primary mission is Veterans' advocacy.
The G.I. Go Fund 
The G.I. Go Fund focuses on assisting Veterans as they transition from military to civilian life. The G.I. Go Fund offers assistance on securing employment, enrolling in Department of Veterans Affairs benefits, education advancement, and other programs. The G.I. Go Fund also offers a Transition Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Missouri Veterans Commission 
The Missouri Veterans Commission provides access to state and federal benefits for all Veterans through its three core programs: Service to Veterans Program, Veteran Homes Program, and the Veterans Cemetery Program. Specifically, the Service to Veterans Program provides all Veterans access to accredited Veterans service officers to assist them in obtaining access to all state and federal benefits available to Veterans for which they may be eligible.
National Association for Black Veterans – Washington State Command Council 
The Washington State Command Council of the National Association for Black Veterans, Inc., (NABVETS) provides strategic advocacy on behalf of its membership and personal advocacy on behalf of Veterans seeking assistance with Department of Veterans Affairs claims.
Virginia Wounded Warrior Program 
The Virginia Wounded Warrior Program serves Veterans of any era who are Virginia residents, members of the Virginia National Guard and Armed Forces Reserves not in active federal service, and the Family members of those Veterans and service members. It provides a network of community-based services designed to help Veterans and their Families overcome the challenge of stress-related issues and traumatic brain injuries.
West Virginia Division of Veteran's Affairs 
The West Virginia Division of Veteran's Affairs was created in 1945 by the West Virginia Legislature to care for the patriotic West Virginians who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The State Division of Veteran's Affairs assists West Virginia Veterans with federal benefits and administers several state programs, including housing initiatives and education assistance.
