Cadre Selection Process

Cadre Selection Process

Military Cadre members are carefully reviewed and selected to fill Cadre positions at Warrior Transition Units (WTUs) and Community Care Unit (CCUs). Senior Commanders are responsible for resourcing and approving personnel to fill cadre positions. WTU/CCU commanders will interview and review the records of candidates to validate that the candidates possess the required skills to work as a WTU/CCU Cadre member.

Reserve Component personnel who wish to support our wounded, ill and injured Soldiers as a Cadre member should apply in the Tour of Duty system. Active Component Soldiers are selected from the installation. All personnel identified for assignment as Cadre are assigned against an authorized TDA position commensurate to their service component. All Cadre assignments are recommended as two-year obligations.

For detailed procedural guidance on the selection and assignment of military personnel to a WTU/CCU, please refer to WTC Policy 10-006: Cadre Selection Approval and Assignment to WTUs or ask us a question via the Cadre Collaboration Portal.
