The Army understands the stress financial difficulty can place on wounded warriors and their Families, and works closely with wounded, ill and injured Soldiers to ensure they continue to regularly receive military pay while assigned to a Warrior Transition Unit (WTU).
Soldiers should work closely with their squad leaders and their local Wounded Warrior Pay Support Team (WWPST), located at Army installations throughout the U.S. and overseas, to ensure they are receiving the appropriate pay for their personal situation.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Benefits and Services section provides a wide variety of benefits available to wounded, ill and injured Veterans and their Families. For additional information on state or territory-specific benefits or to contact your local VA office, click here.
The Social Security Administration provides disability benefits to workers, including military personnel, whose medical conditions cause a severe impact on their ability to work. Social security benefits are different from the Army and VA benefits; thus, requires a separate application. Military service members who became disabled while on active military service on or after October 1, 2001 will go through an expedited application process.
MyArmyBenefits is the official Army benefits portal and provides information on how to calculate disability income and other benefits of interest for severely injured Soldiers and their Families, as well as surviving Family members of fallen Soldiers.
The eBenefits Portal is a central location for Veterans, service members and their Families to research, find, access and manage their benefits and personal information. You can apply for benefits, download your DD214 and view your benefits status.
TAP is sponsored by the DoD and provides helpful information for service members transitioning from military service. In addition to the website, TAP services are also offered through Transition Assistance Offices at most military installations, coordinating closely with the Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP). The TurboTAP site is currently under construction, and will be re-launched in March 2014 with a new name and web address.
ACAP provides transitioning Soldiers detailed job assistance training, counseling, and other resources needed to quickly find a job (often before leaving active duty). ACAP also helps transitioning Soldiers determine eligibility for unemployment compensation.
Transition GPS is a website is designed to provide separating service members access to their Verification of Military Experience and Training (VMET) documents (DD2586 and Cover Letter) that will assist them in their transition from the military.
The National Resource Directory (NRD) is a website for wounded, ill and injured service members, Veterans, their Families and those who support them. The NRD provides access to services and resources at the national, state and local levels to support recovery, rehabilitation and community reintegration on topics such as benefits and compensation, education and training, employment, Family and caregiver support, health, homeless assistance, housing, transportation and travel and other services and resources.
The WTC Community Support Network connects wounded, ill and injured Soldiers, Veterans, their Families and Caregivers with local community organizations that offer products and services that are free of charge, covered by insurance, or at a significantly reduced cost.
